USAID/PHCPI has been working with the Iraqi Ministry of Health (MoH) to establish a Leadership and Management Training Program for primary health care clinic and district managers. With this leadership and management in-service training, local-level managers will be better equipped to lead their teams using problem-solving and communication skills to improve the quality of service delivery.
To assist with these efforts, USAID/PHCPI held a training of trainers (TOT) workshop from January 29-February 2, 2012. During this workshop, trainers were given the necessary tools to be able to facilitate trainings back home in their own provinces and districts. Trainers were asked to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they acquired during the workshop and received supportive feedback from the other participants.
This training program will facilitate the MoH goal of decentralizing its health care system and ensuring high quality, equitable, and accessible primary health care services for all Iraqis.
